Your Role: As a key member of the Aegon Asset Management Compliance team, you will: 

  • Support and Collaborate: Assist your colleagues, the Head of Compliance, and the management team in executing local and global compliance programs. 
  • Drive Projects: Lead and contribute to local and global compliance projects and initiatives. 
  • Align Standards: Ensure alignment of compliance practices and standards across local and global operations. 
  • Liaise Effectively: Work closely with various areas of the Global Asset Management Compliance departments and business affiliates to achieve compliance objectives. 

Responsibilities: (List below) 

  • Compliance Program Implementation: Assist in the execution of local and global compliance programs, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies. 
  • Project Management: Contribute to compliance-related projects and initiatives, both locally and globally. 
  • Policy Development: Develop, review, and update compliance policies and procedures to ensure they are current and effective. 
  • Training and Education: Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate employees on compliance standards and practices. 
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor compliance activities with regulations and procedures. 
  • , identify potential risks, and prepare reports for senior management and regulatory bodies. 
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Collaborate with various departments and business affiliates to ensure consistent compliance practices and standards. 
  • Regulatory Updates: Stay informed, with the support of our Regulatory team, about changes in regulations and ensure the organization adapts accordingly. 
  • Incident Management: Investigate compliance incidents and breaches and implement corrective actions. 
  • Local Compliance Coordination: Coordinate and administer assigned local compliance responsibilities. 
  • Organizational Support: Support compliance across our organization 
  • Compliance Reporting: Lead, coordinate, draft, and deliver local compliance reporting. 
  • Advisory Role: Advise and challenge internal stakeholders on compliance issues.  
  • Liaison Role: Act as a liaison between the AAM local compliance team, Global compliance teams and Aegon Group Regulatory Compliance to ensure consistent compliance standards. 
  • Policy Alignment: Assist in the development and alignment of compliance policies, including annual policy reviews and attestations, in accordance with applicable regulations and consistent with the AAM policy framework. 
  • Specialist Role: Act as the specialist for ALM (Asset Liability Management) and KYC/CDD (Know Your Customer/Customer Due Diligence) in relation to institutional clients.  

 Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in law or equivalent education and experience.  
  • Minimum of at least five years relevant work experience in the asset management or banking industry or equivalent professional experience. 
  • In-depth understanding of local and international (EU) compliance regulations, particularly those relevant to asset management. 
  •  Strong oral and written communication skills in both Dutch and English. 
  • Ability to work in a small-team environment and to work independently with a hands-on mentality and to multi-task with minimal supervision. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders. 
  • Attention to detail, with ability to multi-task deliverables in a fast-paced environment. 
  • A strong sense of accountability with a drive for results. 
  • Professional maturity and ability to be discreet in working with highly sensitive information. 
  • Familiarity with compliance-related software and tools, as well as general proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Strong knowledge of Sanction regulation; AML and KYC/CDD 
  • Strong knowledge of financial instruments 
  • Understanding of AI applications in compliance, including how AI can be used to enhance compliance monitoring, risk assessment, and regulatory reporting.
