Your job
As the Global Mobility advisor your work is focusing on operational excellence on the one side, and implementing change on the other side. You work, together with the team, on multiple topics: policy and process development;  track best practices in the market, advice on policy and policy interpretation, compliancy issues, guarding standards and smooth coordination with all stakeholders. Managing the contracts and relationships with the external vendors, is your responsibility. As a trusted and professional advisor you consult business leadership on assignment considerations, assignment cost estimations, balance sheets, and assignment processes at an individual and policy level. As part of the project team, you help design, develop and deliver new and effective solutions in the current Global Mobility framework and provide training to HR professionals on new developments and changes concerning immigration, processes and policies. Foremost, you are the subject matter expert and contact person on all Global Mobility and Immigration topics.

Your working environment
The Mobility team is recently formed and is ABN AMRO’s policymaker for global mobility. The department used to focus on Expat assignments only, but will in the near future facilitate all international transfers within ABN AMRO; ranging from long term, short term and commuter assignments to permanent local hires recruited from abroad.  For the change around this topic we  work in a multidisciplinary team in an agile way.

The team, roughly 5 FTE is situated in the HR department People Development and works from our headquarters in Amsterdam. This team is responsible for two topics, Succession Management and Global Employee Mobility.Our mission statement: In order to support International growth, be an attractive global organization for top talent and to be future fit in a VUCA world, we need a transparent global mobility strategy that enables us to have the right talent on the right time at the right place at the right cost and for the right reason, using an award winning platform, in a compliant way and with measurable results.

Your profile
You are a true professional with extensive experience in the world of global mobility. You know how to use your expertise, advice and communication skills to create value and contribute to the envisioned change. You have a profound understanding of the needs of the business. Being an expert in your field you have no difficulty taking responsibility. You excel at connecting people and building relationships across various levels. You have a pleasant and natural way of influencing others and feel comfortable interacting with all levels, different cultures both within and outside the organization. You are tenacious, a multitasker, a positive and enthusiastic person with the ability to gain credibility with all stakeholders. With a can-do approach you recognize opportunities and provide solutions. Do you think you fit? Check your profile:

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field; Tax, Legal or HR.
  • Proven experience with Global Mobility acquired through formal education, certification and experience;
  • Familiarity with Agile way of working or larger change projects;
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a big four, client facing Global Mobility practice, or a similar role within a large, international and complex organization;
  • Excellent command of the English language, both in speech and in writing;
